School visits and events

Schools & Libraries

My books and their themes are best suited to Key Stage 3 upwards, age range 13-18.

I offer a wide range of author talks and creative workshops for GCSE, A level including Media Studies, English Literature and Drama & Theatre Studies, focusing on creative writing, dialogue, character and plot building, and will happily tailor to your classes needs.

I offer interactive workshops to smaller groups. These are fun, dynamic sessions which can incorporate a game of Mafia/Werewolf (the game which inspired The Traitors) a firm favourite for most young adults (and their teachers!) and a guaranteed ice breaker!

Available for half day or full day bookings.

Please contact me to discuss your needs and to tailor the perfect workshop for your school.

Events & Adult workshops

Come and play the game that inspired the hit TV show

THE TRAITORS.

I run Mafia/Werewolf murder mystery evenings for bookshops, festivals, and events which can be combined with a Q&A/ meet the author talk or as standalone events.

No experience is necessary - I will walk the players through a game or two of Mafia, or Werewolf, narrating a thrilling scenario in which a series of bloody murders will take place. The guests must try their very best to stay alive and uncover the villains hidden amongst them before they become the next victim!

Very little space or setup is required; just a chair for each player. (Max 20 players at a time). I will supply all things murder-y, you supply the beverages and snacks for our would be detectives.

Game duration 45min approx. I would usually recommend 2 games per night.

Please contact me to discuss your event needs.

  • "THANK YOU so much for Tuesday. It was such a great afternoon, two of the kids had finished the book by yesterday morning, and there were smatterings of ‘no spoilers’ to be heard at lunch when the others started reading! Ali’s legs also became a phrase that was repeated a few times, which just added to the general oddness of our group’s discussions. We wrote 50 word stories in the morning and one of the kids piped up, see this is where Ali’s Legs are so important isn’t it, to general nodding and me trying to keep a straight face."

  • "Thank you once again for such a wonderful session, it was simply great. As we walked back to school, the pupils were full of praise and ideas - Ali certainly fired many imaginations in that session, despite their seeming quieter than I expected. For those girls who bought the books, their excitement was palpable! I'm very grateful for the invitation and really appreciate the day. Please pass on my thanks and best wishes to Ali too."

  • "Thank you so much for inviting us this morning. Everyone had a fantastic time and it was great to see such a buzz around books. I think we need to fit in more visits to the library we're thrilled with the outcome."

  • "Huge thank you to @alison.clack for coming all the way to visit us and run an awesome writing masterclass today for all the #YoungWriters at the RCT Writing Squad, and for teaching us how to play Mafia! It was so much fun! I loved some of the Mafia murders - killed by a Sherlock Holmes book was especially brilliant!"
